Biography
Shiqi Luo is a solo violinist and chamber musician recognized for her expressive tone, refined musical sensitivity, and distinctive artistic voice. As both a performer and curator, she approaches music as a form of storytelling, crafting immersive experiences that resonate with contemporary audiences through a synthesis of sound, narrative, and visual imagination.In recent years, Shiqi has appeared on international stages across the United States, Europe, and Asia, performing at venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Columbia University. In 2025 summer, she completed her international concert tour Notes • Echo • Dream, further establishing her presence as a versatile and compelling artist. Her work often extends beyond traditional performance formats, incorporating interdisciplinary elements that reflect her interest in expanding the boundaries of classical music presentation.Alongside her performing career, she is the founder of the Sunway Music Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young musicians and broadening access to classical music through innovative programming and educational initiatives. Through her curatorial work, she has created platforms that encourage dialogue between artists and audiences, fostering a more dynamic and inclusive musical environment.Her debut album, scheduled for release in the summer of 2026, marks a significant milestone in her artistic development. The project presents a deeply personal exploration of fragility, resilience, and transformation, tracing an emotional journey that reflects both introspection and renewal. In conjunction with the album, her original composition Le Papillon will be published, extending her artistic voice into composition and authorship.Shiqi began studying the violin at the age of four and was later admitted to the Primary School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she studied under Professor Lina Yu. She continued her training at the Manhattan School of Music, earning both a Master of Music degree and a Professional Studies Certificate in Classical Violin Performance, where she studied with Professor Lucia Robert.Her artistry has been praised by Kioichiro Harada, founder of the Tokyo String Quartet, who noted that her love and dedication to the violin are vividly reflected in her stage presence.Praised for her musical depth, poetic sensibility, and compelling stage presence, Shiqi continues to shape a distinctive artistic path—one that integrates performance, curation, and narrative into a cohesive and evolving artistic language.
